Example A7
This riff is basically the same line repeated over with a few small variations. The main feature of the riff is that it retains the constant eighth note pump feel like the previous examples but deviates from the chord progression to add some variety. A riff like this makes a song distinctive as it is something you could hum if you were describing the song. Try playing along with the jamming track using both this riff and an eighth note pump following the chord progression and notice how different they sound. |
